![]() Collinot Enamelled Watering CanThis pretty and rare tin-glazed enamel miniature watering can is from the Paris Studio of Collinot and de Beaumont, and dates from the late 19thC. It is decorated with detailed sprays of flowers and an insect, and has 'E.C.Toujours' in a double crescent and 'B' impressed on the base. It is in very good condition, with some loss of enamel and a tiny crack at the base of one flower spray. There just may have been a very professional repair to the handle where it meets the base.Size: Overall Height 11cm., overall width 13cm. Ref: R050 ~ Price £60GBP ![]() Early French Faience Double Encrier (Nevers ?)This early, very interesting double inkwell and pentray has separate original inkwells, without covers, and dates from the early 1800's. The decoration, in blue and black, is similar to the swags and sprays of Nevers Revolutionary Period wares. The condition is generally very good indeed, with just minor wear to the edges, and chipping and stress crazing around one ink well holder, normally hidden.Size: Length 17cm.,depth 12cm.,height 6cm. Ref: W027 ~ Price £65 ![]() French Faience Cul Noir Large PlatterThis oval 'cul noir' platter dates from c1800, and is in the style of Forges Les Eaux. The pattern, in blues, is outlined in manganese, with a complex banded border and a central motif of a basket of flowers and fruit. It is in excellent condition, apart from some rim rubs.Size: 32cm. by 24.5cm. Ref: T034 ~ Price £65GBP ![]() Rubelles French Faience Emaux Ombrants ComportA golden-brown footed and pierced comport with cartouches of hunting scenes on the rim. The green shaded centre has a design of cherries. The comport is unmarked, but is featured on p116 of ' La Faience de Rubelles'. Ref: T032 ~ Price £55GBP ![]() Rubelles French Faience Emaux Ombrants Lobed PlateThis Rubelles plate with its ten-lobed rim has a clearly defined 'emaux ombrants' centrepiece of a male cleric dining, and a series of decorative borders. The back is marked with the early mark, 'BREVET D'INVENTION A.D.T.' in a circle, dating its manufacture to 1838-42. It is in reasonably good condition, for Rubelles, with the usual scratches, usage wear and dark patches to the centre, and one shallow glaze rub to each of the inner and outer rims.Size: Diam. 22cm Ref: S141 ~ Price £25GBP ![]() French Faience de L'Est Rose Bouquet PlateThis cheerful plate featuring a bouquet of flowers is from one of the faienceries of the east of France, possibly Luneville, and dates from the middle of the 19C. There is some loss of coloured enamel as a result of use in one or two places, but no chips or hairlines. There are some rubs to the edge and a general 'warp' to the plate, lending it character!Size: Diam. 27.5cm. Ref: N154 ~ Price £40GBP ![]() Les Islettes French Faience 'Decor au Chinois' PlateThis eight-lobed Les Islettes plate has a design of a Chinaman, standing and smoking a long pipe, gesticulating with the traditional 'fat finger'. The plate dates from the early years of the 19thC., and the colours are fresh and bright. In lovely condition, with just two small rim chips left by an earlier hanging device.Size: Diam. 22.5cm. The pot is marked on the base with the backstamp for 1871 and is in very good condition. The tiny lid has chips and part of the spout cover is missing. Ref: T040 ~ Price £45GBP ![]() French Faience Epinal Bird PlateThis attractive eight-lobed plate is decorated with a central bird motif with a leafy spray in its beak, and three similar sprays around the border, is attributed to the Epinal Faiencerie, in existence inthe east of France from 1790 to 1840. The careful painting of the bird, the use of green, yellow and brick red on the central motif, and the border sprays, are typical of Epinal. The condition of the plate is very good, with clear, bright decoration, and no cracks or hairlines, the only damage being two shallow border chips and some rubs.Size: Diam. 24cm. It is decorated with a design of a cornucopia, various flowers and buds, the flowers being repeated on the outside of the dish. It bears the painted St. Clement entwined mark 'SC' in manganese, and dates from the end of the 19th.C. The condition is very good with just one neat repair to a chip on the inner edge of the cream compartment.Size: Max.diam. 25cm., depth 7cm. The condition of this quite heavy 'silver shape' plate is particularly good, with only two rubs to the edge. It is unmarked on the base.Size: Diam.24cm. It has 'Creil' impressed on the reverse and dates from 1820-30. It is in excellent condition for its age, without discolouration, and with only slight scratches from use.Size: Diam. 23.5cm. The colours remain bright and the condition of the piece is very good, with some border chips and rubs but no other damage. The border, outlined in blue, is of floral branches in relief. The back is marked ' H&B manufacture de 1/2 Porcelaine de Choisy' stamped in black, and impressed, 'Porcelaine de Choisy'. The plate dates from 1843-63 and is in very good, unrestored condition, with one small area of enamel loss.Size: Diam. 21cm. Ref: Q003 ~ Price £45GBP ![]() Creil French Faience Fine Early Classical PlateThis early !9th.C black on white plate depicts a scene from classical history of Cincinnatus being called to the aid of Rome in 465 b.c. The print probably derives from an 18th.C. Le Notre engraving, which includes the word 'Cincinnatus' in a scroll. The plate has 'CREIL', a cross and '7' impressed to the back, dating it to c1825. It displays signs of having been well used, with some minor stains, rubs and crackling, but the picture is in very good , clear condition, and the plate has no chips, cracks or restoration.Size: Diam. 22cm. Ref: R157 ~ Price £30GBP ![]() HD Boulogne Faience Lidded Powder BowlThis very pretty Boulogne powder bowl is decorated with a Brittany (St. Cast) coat of arms on the lid, and the Rouen 'lattice' pattern. The lid has a ring handle, and the base of the bowl bears the painted HD mark of Henri Delcourt, dating it to the period between the two World Wars. It is in excellent undamaged condition, apart from some small minor rubs to the inside of the rim.Size: Height 8cm., width 11cm.x 11cm. Ref: N104 ~ Price £20GBP ![]() Vieillard French Faience Oriental Design Vase c1880This delightful Vieillard earthenware vase is decorated in relief enamelling on a ground pattern of blue scales. The oriental design is of straps and flowers in cartouches. The vase is in very good undamaged condition, with only a little discolouration on the inside top edge. It bears the impressed marks to the base '403' and 'B', and the marks 'D216' and '06' painted in black, and dates from c1880.Size: Height 10.5cm., width 9.5cm., depth 4cm. Ref: T013 ~ Price £65GBP ![]() French Faience St Clement Coq PlateThis modern representation of a favourite French theme, the revolutionary 'Coq' with Phrygian cap, is a close copy of a design in production at St Clement between 1800 and 1849. This plate dates from the 1990's and was purchased from the Luneville Chateau Museum in 2002, not long before the museum and its contents were destroyed by fire. The plate is marked 'St Clement France,63' in carmine on the base and is in excellent condition.Size: diam. 24.5cm.
